IIT JEE is one of the toughest exams in India and is all set to go global. Students of as many as 25 nations will now be able to take one of the most challenging and reputed entrance examinations in India, the 25 nations include the likes of the USA, Japan, Australia, The UK, Malaysia, UAE, Qatar and others. Double Countries from Previous Year Will Participate in JEE This Year

Previous Year JEE exams were held in 12 foreign countries including UAE, Qatar, Kuala Lumpur, and Lagos. This year the benchmark has increased as almost double the number of nations is going to participate in these examinations. Last year approximately 1,41,699 students participated in the JEE mains exam,  out of which 41862 students cleared the exams the passing percentage is approximately 30% which speaks about the competitiveness of the examination. Foreign students will get the benefits of studying in top engineering colleges like IIT, and NIT in India which are quite prestigious however they won’t be able to get into IITs. They are also eligible to get admission into schools of Architecture and planning and other institutions funded by the Government. In the above-mentioned institutions, 15 percent of the seats will be reserved for foreign nationals and NRI students. 

What is IIT JEE?

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination, which can be appeared by students after their class 12 examinations. It is accepted in various institutes across India and it is the dream of many aspirants to get good marks and get admission into prestigious engineering colleges of India. Through IIT JEE the students can get admission to prestigious engineering colleges such as IIT, IIIT, NIT and private colleges. It is a computer-generated test involving MCQs. These tests are conducted by the National Testing Agency or NTA. Candidates can appear for JEE Main and Advance twice every year. It serves as a basis for admission to various UG courses in the field of engineering, and architecture. JEE is divided into two parts one is JEE Mains and another is JEE Advanced. According to the marks obtained in these examinations, ranks are decided and on the basis of ranking admission can be availed to various recognised institutions.

Courses Offered Through IIT JEE

JEE mains has two papers, paper 1 and paper 2 candidates can opt for both the papers simultaneously or one at once both these paper comprise of multiple-choice questions Paper 1 is for admission to Btech/BE courses and it is a computerized test, Paper 2 consists of Paper A and Paper B. Paper A is for admission into UG courses of Architecture and Paper B is for Planning courses which are also conducted in a computerized manner except a practical paper of Drawing. Candidates have to appear for Chemistry Biology Math and Physics. However, there is an option to choose between Biology and maths. The total marks for each paper are 100 per subject which comes out to 300  passing marks out of which is 89.75 for the general category while the reserved categories have their separate cut-offs.

Also, various institutions have been given the status of “Eminence”, in every state, there are universities that are given such status. Foreign students are attracted to the Institute of  Eminence in the country. Entries for foreign students are not available to each and every University but still the process is on to make sure all universities are covered for foreign nationals. 

Students Need to Know About JEE

Based on the results of JEE Advanced, seats are allocated in 23 IITs, 31 NIT and 23 IIITs and there is a total of 40,000 seats to be offered to the candidates. JEE exams are not only conducted in Hindi or English language but also in various vernacular languages so students have free will to appear in the language of their choice. Students can appear in their own mother tongue as almost all regional languages are covered. Students have to first appear for JEE Mains then after clearing the Mains students appear for the Advance examination and on the basis of which ranks are allotted for admission into top tier universities. Also, many universities offer admission on the basis of JEE Mains examinations so foreign students can get admission into these Universities on the basis of marks scored in JEE Mains. JEE Exams will be held in June – July this year. Last year it was held four times a  year. Mridul Agarwal was the All India Ranker in the JEE Advanced 2021 his score was 96.66% and belonged to Jaipur.
